Halloween Pics

I have two Halloween events about which to post. However, it is 9:45 and I am going to bed. Look for them later today or tomorrow.

To Mobile

Robyn left on Thurs A.M. Chip would not be home until late Friday night. I decided two more days at home alone was not appealing. So I followed her back and meet Chip in Mobile.

Ella enjoyed the bench in her room at Poppy's house. She loves climbing on any chair-type.

What she did not enjoy was watching Streed play outside with Poppy and Annie (the dog) while she was inside with her mean Mommie.

Cousin comes to town

Robyn and Taylor came to keep us company for a few days last week. Ella took an interest in Taylor so we decided she needed to be protected. We boxed in her bouncy seat with the "Super Yard". I think she liked it. But, it wasn't long until both Streed and Ella figured out how to get in there.

New Clothes for Streed

A lady at my mom's work sent me some hand-me-downs last week via Robyn. Her son is Streed's age but he is bigger than Streed. He is probably the avg size whereas Streed is on the smaller side. But, it works out great for us. He is now stocked for the fall/winter. I feel so blessed by her generosity. There were so many clothes I was able to separate them by 1. outfits, 2. shirts, 3. play clothes, 4. nice pants. The organization was partly to help Chip when he dresses Streed. He sometimes doesn't know what goes together!

Family Photo

I am so behind on the blog I don't remember what I have or have not posted. It would be too easy to look. Instead, I will just post this pic, assuming I have not already done so. This was taken at our friends' The Chances' house a few weeks ago. Their kids are Streed's new "sends" aka "friends". He cannot say his "f" so you get the jist. They have twin 5 year old boys, a 3 year old girl and one year old girl. Great ages for my kids!

Too CUTE

In case you don't click on all my other friends' blogs...I didn't want you to miss this cutie pie. Here is Taylor, Robyn's baby. They came to visit me last week for a few days while Chip was gone. She is wearing one of Ella's old bow bands. I know Nick is not a big fan but I think it is the cutest thing. It is hard to tell exactly who she looks like so she must just be a good mix.

At Nana & Papa's

Last weekend Chip and I went to Callaway Gardens for my friend Anne's wedding. We dropped the kids off at Chip's parents house for the weekend. When we got back on Sunday we had a small family party. After the party we went outside to watch Streed ride his "Gator". Ella couldn't take it. She had to get in on the action. She had a ball!

More pumpkin pictures

More pics from the same day. See following post.

This year's pumpkin patch visit

We took a trip last week to the pumpkin patch in town with some friends from our play group. The pics aren't as great as last year. Ella hadn't taken a nap and wasn't in a smiley mood. But, her outfit is cute! A few more pics in next post.

Minneapolis

We spent a few weekends ago in Minneapolis, MN at the Desiring God conference with the whole Campus Outreach Gulf Coast staff team. It was a great time of laughing and learning.

You can visit the Desiring God website and listen to any talk from the conference for free as well as almost any John Piper sermon ever preached. I was so impressed that they offer this all free of charge. Just go to the "Resource Library" tab on the home page and enjoy.

Full House

Our friends, The Dyes, stayed with us this past weekend to go to the wedding. They have kids almost exactly the same age as mine. Streed and Isaac played HARD ALL WEEKEND! They tackled each other and only cried a few times. I was proud of Streed's toughness. I saw that he knew Isaac was his friend and was not trying to hurt him, therefore, rough play did not scare him or hurt his feelings. JuJu and Ella just did their own things.

on the way to the wedding. ella just ate a chocolate teddy graham. thanks jenny.

Strawberries, Chocolate and Good Buddies

We went to Lafayette last weekend for a friends wedding.

Streed spent time with his friends Isaac and John Edwin. Isaac stayed at our house all weekend. The boys hadn't seen John Edwin since last December.

Streed and Jadyn shared a moment at the reception.

Ella became intimately acquainted with the strawberries. She loved them plain and chocolate covered. She snuck away from us and found the chocolate one on someone's plate. It was too funny.

Oh yea, and she loved the citrus green tea too. Just kidding, the top was on. She was sure trying though.

Birthday Boy

Sweet Streed turned 3 years old today. It was a rather low-key day spent playing with new toys. We bought him books and a play kitchen. He also got a puzzle, books, two matching games, matchbox cars, Thomas the train underwear, a bouncy ball and a Lincoln Log set. He randomly would sing "Happy Birthday to me" as he played with his toys. When I got home from Bible Study tonight he was asleep with his new puzzle. So cute!

Growing

Following is the email I received today from BabyCenter. Makes me feel better about my recent expansion. I am just trying to make it till next weekend, Anne's wedding. I ordered my dress when I was not pregnant. Yeah!

Hello, Shelley!

Your baby weighs about 5 ounces now, and he's around 5 inches long — about the size of a large onion. The umbilical cord, his lifeline to the placenta, is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby can move his joints, and his skeleton — until now, rubbery cartilage — is starting to harden into bone. Some of it will remain cartilage for years after he's born. A newborn's skeleton has 300 parts (a combination of bone and cartilage). As your child grows, some of these parts harden and fuse together. By the time your baby reaches adulthood, he'll have just 206 bones.

17 weeks...
