We have been working for weeks on our kitchen. I am not real sure what is taking so long. Maybe moving, kids, the holidays, conference, the weather, work etc. I hated the kitchen when we first looked at this house. The laminate cabinets were dark brown and the linoleum floor was 1970's various shades of green. With the money the seller gave us for updates, along with a gift card and the handy dandy Lowe's card, we are well on our way to a pretty kitchen. A friend of mine said the other day she wanted to see before and after pictures. I told her the problem was there were no after pictures. I have before's and in-betweens. So, without further ado...

uh! *gasping with mouth open*
How could you hate that kitchen and why would you change it?! I love [most of] all that is the 1970's. What a beautiful floor you had. (The counter, not so much. It's more of the in-the-moment counter top choice of the 1980's.)
Appliances should be nothing but that burnt-sienna-orange, mellow gold or avocado green, it should be a law.
One day, my home will be decorated in a motif that involves the flower/asterisk symbol, as seen in various late 60's/early 70's venues, such as The Dating Game and the like.
