Day 13

The kids went to VBS today. I volunteered. Chip actually asked me in front of the Children's minister if I would volunteer. I ended up working the nursery. If you volunteered your young kids got to go to the nursery. I really needed to because Nate is still super fussy. This was not my ideal situation but I am glad I did. Because now I know I will not volunteer again. It wasn't terrible but it was 4 hours in one room basically. I think my kids will have more fun just being at the motel.

I spent $2.25 per load of laundry today. But we had to wash towels desperately.

Chip took the kids swimming today. I walked Nate out there after his nap. He was not dressed for the occassion. His little Luvs held up quite nicely.
Ryan & Leanne volunteered to keep our kids tonight. The students had their discipleship groups so the staff was free. So Chip and I went out to eat for an early birthday dinner.

so is it your bday or chips??? Happy day to you. So I did laundry today at our apt and it is $4.00/load!!! Ridiculous!!! I mean it isn't like this building is not making a killing on rent already - but 4/load that is highway robbery!!!! Oh and I left my books for the summer. I had to ship everything since we were flying and they are to heavy. But i did bring the movie - guess it will do for my happy place for the summer. Oh and he is here this summer filming a new movie.

Gotta love a saggy bum.
And you have summed up in several words why I will not be at VBS...

Shelley, Shelley, Shelley: VBS was the thing I dreaded all year...and I'm a retired Sp. Ed. teacher who only taught problem children for 30 years! Somewhere around Donna turning 10-ish, I said "no more". I was guilted, I was begged, I was promised to only "help" a teacher....didn't matter. I was through, and have never looked back! Yes, again this year at CUMC, I've been nudged. I've got callouses on my nudge bone, they can't make me! I think you'll love homeschooling Streed. He's such an good boy, he'll love doing what you tell him. You'll love seeing how far you can go with him.
SBP should earn you a "saint" spot for sure. SBP as a student was great fun, as an adult with a husband and 3 children...that's a sacrifice! Way to go...and go, and go.
