I did a lot of nothing this weekend. I literally could have stayed in my robe and ratty jeans all day except we needed to take a family picture. Streed woke up at 4:30am with a stomach bug. I promise prior to moving to Arkansas he had only had the stomach bug probably twice. Now we are going on 2 or 3 times in 8 months. It is getting a little old. So, between the frigid temps, arctic blasts of wind, and his sickness we laid low. I started working on a project yesterday. Last year I bought a stocking kit for Nate. As a child my great-aunt made all of the kids felt stockings with sequins. I am not sure if that is a southern thing. I know it sounds tacky but I love mine to this day. So, I bought kits for Streed and Ella that my mom put together. I overdid it on the one I bought for Streed. It was a little too detailed and therefore I just opted not to ask her to do Nate's. I really kind of wanted to do it myself. So, I found one on Ebay and just never got around to it last year. I can think of a million reasons why. Moving on. I found it a few days ago in my wrapping paper box. I have been so nervous to start with all the negativity oozing from my mom about these darn kits. (you know what i mean, Mama) But, I have totally loved it. I could not pull myself away from it. Chip does not understand why it takes so long.
This is what I have done so far.

and this is basically what it will look like. i made a few changes to their clothes because the kid that was going to be Nate had on pink. So I swapped a few things.

However, I do love taking timer pictures with the family so that did jolt me from my bed away from my mindless threading of beads. I have recently decided I enjoy mindless activities at times. I think that is why I like Twilight so much. Mindless. I spent several hours this week chopping pecans. Mindless. Anyway...here are some of the shots we took today with a tripod and a timer.

This picture is a perfect example of Ella. She was wanting to yell, "Go Saints"! It is a task for her to cooperate. From an early age, I mean EARLY, I have asked God to direct her passions because she goes hard after what she wants. If it makes it into her mind it is going to happen. And if it does not it is not for a lack of trying. This means battles between us. You see why I like mindless activities at times?

It looks like Ella is praying in the first picture herself. Maybe asking the Lord for the same things. :) I have never seen the felt stockings...it looks like fun to make!
