To sleep or not to sleep

Since we have been home, we have rested but are tired from battling bed/nap times. At the end of project Ella started climbing out of her pack-n-play. So, she spent a few nights on the air mattress with Streed. The first night home she climbed out of her crib. This was no big surprise. We were scared she would hurt herself so we took her crib mattress out and laid it on the floor. After much spanking and returning her to the room, she eventually fell asleep. We have tried to let them share a bed again. Today both nap and bedtime were an ordeal. Streed and Ella are great friends which means they would rather play and laugh than sleep. It is cute until it is 9:40pm and they are still awake. I ended up taking Ella to her room to sleep. Streed wanted to go too. I think Ella really wants to sleep in her own room. We have a twin frame and are planning on getting a mattress next week.
Nate too has been having sleeping issues. I don't know if it is the beginning of teething, transitioning back to his crib, congestion or hunger... So, in order to rule out as many possibilities as I can, I have put in a humidifier and started feeding him rice cereal. This didn't work last night. Maybe tonight.
I know what you are thinking. So he does look a little chubby in this picture. I can admit when I am wrong...sometimes.

geez, i swear jordan and ella are two of a kind. he started climbing out at the same age last Christmas....around 21 months.
if those two ever put their heads together we got trouble.
hope the sleep situation resolves itself soon. i dislike those battles!!

We had a hard week or two with both of the boys tranisitioning to the bed. Brady was harder because he was younger when he climbed out of the crib. Those were some of the most emotional weeks of my life. I will pray that the tranisition is as easy as possible. The words of wisdom that were shared with me during this rough - spanking constantlty for hours - were - Just remember sleep is the very best thing for them even though they think otherwise, just be consistent and they will learn. I had to say this to myself constantly during those times. Good luck

Hilarious that she fell asleep halfway on the floor and halfway on the mattress! That picture of Nate doesn't look like him to me - it actually looks like Taylor when she was younger.

Okay, long comment. Hang in there with me. The chalkboard is great! You are so creative or do we give HGTV credit for some of this? Can the kids reach the chalkboard? Hope so.

I am so sorry you are having sleep issues. The picture of Ella is so dramatic. And I think the humidifier and the cereal are great ideas for Nate. He looks so different with his eyes wide open. I agree with Jenn in that Nate doesn't look chunky, just grown up. And then there is my sister, who I'm just realizing looked like Nate in her baby pitures. Goodness. Gran
