on a side note:
I bought a chandelier off of Pottery Barn Kids online clearance f
or the kids' bathroom. Our bathroom light fixtures are awful and they are centered above the mirror and sink area. I did not know what to do in their bathroom till I saw this light. I have been looking at old pictures of the kids that were taken in the bath tub or in a hooded towel etc. This will be the theme of their bathroom. I still do not know what color to paint the walls. PBK has been doing white or off-white walls with a colored trim in kids rooms/playrooms. Thinking about that. Anyway, I say all that to say I am looking fwd to getting home and tackling that project. This is it except ours is navy blue. I would have loved red but it was gone. And for $39.99 I could not pass it up.

This is really cute. i read this post last night and woke up this morning with ideas. You don't have to use any of them but just thought since they were in my head I would pass some alone.
1. I am not sure what color schemes most appeal to your eye but here were some thoughts. Navy blue looks really good with a limeish green (you don't have to go really lime - it can be suttle but along that line), I also like navy blue with a baby blue - that looks really cute with lime green and pink accents. This would give you a more suttle wall color but burst of cute fun colors.
2. When someone talks about white walls I immediately think art gallerish so I went with that idea. I think kids LOVE to see their own art work up for them and others to see. So you could have streed and ella draw and color things that they think about when they think about water - it may mean bath stuff, beach stuff, ducks and fish - who knows where that would go. You wouldn't have to make it a theme based on what they draw - essentially the theme is water. At ikea there are some really cute cheap frames http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10117033
(NYTTJA Frame)search this if the link doesn't work. You could hang some of their artwork and even change it out often. You could do this with white walls or the colored walls with the colored frames (depends on how much color you like)
3. A simple cute shower curtain could be a white curtain and different colored ric rack sewn on either vertical over the whole curtain or horizontal at the bottom of the curtain. Ric rac is not frilly like ribbons so it works great for boys but cute enough to be girly too. You can get different size ric rac and that would be cute ( and not super expensive)
so these may or may not help but I just thought of them and wanted to pass them own. Can't wait to see how you put it together.
Too Cute!!!!!! Gran
I love the ric rack idea. Gran
